ABOUT IPL PHOTO REJUVENATION
It generally takes 3 to 6 sessions with approximately one month in-between sessions to achieve maximize results. Therefore we do not offer single sessions. Clients may experience a warming sensation immediately following the treatment, which will dissipate within an hour. After a session, clients can expect any redness to resolve within 24 to 48 hours. Any dark freckles or brown spots will appear darker immediately following a session and will flake off within three to five days, leaving the area lighter. IPL will leave your skin looking brighter, more evenly toned, and rejuvenated.
Even though there is no significant downtime after an IPL session other than mild redness, 1 to 3 days after treatment, special care must be taken to avoid the sun before and after a session for 2 weeks. We recommend using a sunblock at all times after an IPL session to prevent burning, hyper- or hypo-pigmentation, and further sun damage.
IPL sessions generally take 30 minutes for each treatment area, and most clients describe the feeling like that of a rubber band snapping on the skin. With this said, there is no need for topical anesthetics.
Our eLight Syneron IPL machine is also equipped with Radio Frequency technology, which allows for more effective and deeper penetration into the skin for more dramatic results.
We recommend avoiding or minimizing sun exposure, and no chemical peels treatments in between IPL treatments for the best results, and to avoid any skin complications, and sensitivities. Retinoid- or Retin A-derivative products should be stopped 2 weeks prior to your scheduled treatment. IPL cannot be performed over tattoos or if you are currently taking Accutane.
A complimentary consultation is necessary before booking an IPL treatment to ensure that the treatment is the best and safest option for your skincare goals.
